Punxsutawney Regional Action Team

History

The Punxsutawney Regional Action Team, was formed in 1995 by a resident of Punxsutawney, and Robert Mecca, the former Advocacy Specialist at Life and Independence forToday (LIFT). Robert Mecca has moved up the ladder at LIFT, he is now the Executive Director.

What We Do

We discuss accessibility issues which concern Punxsutawney and the surrounding area. Issues such as snow removal, low hanging obstacle's, entrances into public buildings, Area Transit Authority and any other issues that someone wishes to bring to the meeting. We not only work towards accessibility, we also try to help others with disabilities. In some cases if someone has a recent disability it is sometimes nice to talk to someone who has been disabled for some time. We can also direct you to the right place to get help in that area.

Where We Meet

We meet the last Tuesday of each month at Punxsutawney Phils Cakes & Steaks, Indiana Street, Punxsutawney. Unless otherwise posted or canceled due to holiday's or circumstances beyond our control. Meetings start at 11:00 AM.
