Cameron County Regional Action Team.
Our group is made up primarily of people with a disability, but everyone is welcome to join our group. Our goal is to see that changes are made in Cameron County to make it more accessible. This not only benefits those with a disability, but many other persons who because of one cause or another appreciate a more accessible route.
We realize that Cameron County not only needs these changes, but that it also needs to be educated on these facts of the ADA laws.
Accomplishments so far have been ramps into the Cameron County Public Library and the Cabin Kitchen just to mention a few. Ongoing projects are the improvements to the sidewalks in Emporium Borough. Continuing concerns are the need for accessible bathrooms in various eating establishments.
Our meetings are held on the third Thursday of each month in the multipurpose room at the Emporium Arms. Meeting times are 11:00 am. Come and join us in our discussions on making our county more accessible.
